  • The museum is set up to show how many Mt. Desert (pronouonce dessert!) old money summer visitors did not want automobiles but many of the working locals did want them allowed. Many unusual cars.  more »

  • Beautifully restored vehicles. Helpful, knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended!
  • YOu will not believe this place! If you don't walk around humming "Chitty Bang Bang Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" I give up entirely. Worth many a visit. Try to make it on "Electric Car Day" for a ride in the 1915 electric buggy!
  • Middle of nowhere hidden GEM!Hard to believe one person used to own all these incredible cars. About 60 on display. Second time we have been here. Fabulous collection of original and restored autos, with a few motorcycles and horsedrawn vehicles thrown in as well. Cool t-shirts and gift shop. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff. Well worth the short drive from Bar Harbor to the "quiet side" of MDI. You'll be glad you visited! GREAT little museum!
  • A lot bigger than it looks from the outside. Great way to kill an hour. Cheap admission, my four year was free. Friendly staff. Lego and coloring table for kids who aren't interested in the old cars. Beautiful old cars. By the way, Seal Cove Road from Southwest Harbor is mostly gravel. You might want to take the long way around.
  • Awesome collection of antique cars and friendly staff
