SeaWorld Orlando, Orlando

SeaWorld Orlando blends elements of a theme park and marine life zoo. The vast complex also includes a 7 hectare (17 acre) lagoon and a tropical forest. See the famous killer whales in an arena show, or get a dose of adrenaline with a ride on an upside-down (floorless) roller coaster. To combine the best of both worlds, visit the oceanic water-coaster, featuring an 18 m (60 ft) vertical drop. You can also take part in the interactive deep dives, allowing you to have a safe, hands-off contact with sharks, stingrays, and sea lions. For something a bit more relaxing, enjoy one of many live shows, featuring choreographed performances with lights, music, dolphins, and costumed acrobats. • Sea World was one of the places I was looking forward to visiting when we arrived in Florida - I wasn’t disappointed. I’d recommend getting there at least half an hour before opening to get in front o...  more »

  • I paid $104 per person (adults and children were the same price) so this was a very expensive day out. I came here 27 years ago when I was 11 and a lot has changed! There were no rides back then, now ...  more »

  • I love this place. As a kid and now even as a full grown man. Amazing shows, surprisingly awesome roller coasters and rides and so many amazing animals. Don't let the haters sway you otherwise because they watched one documentary that doesn't convey all the facts. The trainers and people here love and take care of the animals. See it for yourself and ask questions. Take your kids, family or significant other, you'll have a great time.
  • We had an amazing trip to Sea World! The employees were helpful, happy, and nice. They all worked really hard to make it a great experience for those around them. This park has so much to offer, we were there 7 hours and didn't see everything! Our kiddos had a blast at the kids area. The shows were outstanding! To see baby dolphins and penguins that close was phenomenal, and I have yet to find anywhere else you can get that close. We are transplanted Floridians and can see dolphins at our beaches, but this was still a closer view. We are thankful for a place that tries to educate and conserve with recycling efforts and caring for the environment, as well, as helping animals. We highly recommend Sea World! A few tips: bring your own water bottles (allowed) and suits for kids splash pad. Food is not permitted, but I saw people with small things like granola bars. Eat a big breakfast and just grab a few snacks, it is cheaper. Teachers get in free in summer, so check it out! Have fun!
  • I loved every minute of it! The rides are fun, and the lines were fast. I had a great time here! Coming to the end of my day at the park I forgot to get one of those collectible pennies for my Mom, that is when Justin the security guard helped me get one. Friendly awesome staff and a wonderful park. I will be back.
  • We have done all of the major amusement parks in the area, but always maintain our SeaWorld annual passes. They have a wonderful kids' area with a giant netted area, small roller coaster, train, merry go round, splash pad and more. We usually burn a couple of hours there with our 2 and 6 year olds! We all love the new dolphin show, the visiting bubble show POP, sea lion high, etc. There are cool opportunities to feed sea lions, sting rays, and others. My husband raves about Manta as one of his favorite roller coasters. The holiday offerings for Halloween and Christmas are included with a pass and are always entertaining. The recent addition of food and wine is spectacular. We had a great experience going from booth to booth. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
  • For our life stage, this was our "if we only visit one park" best bet. We have two younger boys, neither are tall enough to ride most amusement park rides, and at their age Disney wouldn't be special enough to them to merit the astronomical price of going there. (Side soapbox.would Walt Disney have wanted his theme parks to be so expensive that most families can't afford to go? Sheesh! ) So we abandoned the idea of going somewhere with thrill rides and instead went for "the experience." With the kids, this was a good call. We still had to do some walking, and a few points some child carrying as they got tired of walking, but the ability to go to a place, sit down, and for a little while allow the entertainment to come to us. Loved the shows (the Sea Lion one was a little too heavy on human scripting and came out kind of flat and dry). The penguin exhibit was a favorite amongst the boys. You are going to be so close to the penguins that you could grab one, and you will probably want to, but don't grab the penguins. The dolphin show for me was the most entertaining, the kids seemed to enjoy the whale. Some of the side elements were a little too political for my taste, but in general I do agree that if you have the means and ability to do better environmentally, by all means do it. Anyways, good place to take the kids who aren't big enough to ride the fun rides, and that you know wouldn't be excited enough about Disney to merit the loan you would need to take out to go there.
