Peterborough shot to fame as the gateway to the Kawartha Lakes, a huge draw for local and international visitors since the early 20th century.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Hutchison House Museum and The Gut Conservation Area. Get in touch with nature at Marvel Rapids Golf Course and Kawartha Golf and Country Club. Venture out of the city with trips to Lindsay Gallery (in Lindsay), Kirkfield Lift Lock (in Kirkfield) and Lew Gallery (in Buckhorn). There's lots more to do: make a trip to Peterborough Lift Lock, steep yourself in history at Serpent Mounds Park, trek along Jackson Creek Kiwanis Trail, and grab your bike and head to Peterborough-Lakefield Rotary Greenway Trail.
