#1 of 19 in Things to do in Lesotho
Afriski Mountain Resort remains the one of only two ski resorts in the south of the continent. Sited 3,050 m (10,006 ft) above sea level, the resort features a 1 km (0.6 mi) long run for intermediate skiers and a gentle beginners’ slope. From June to August it will feel like a white Christmas and you’ll almost forget that you are visiting the world’s hottest continent. The resort offers a wide variety of accommodations--ranging from budget rooms and lodges to mountain chalets. • Overpriced. Dirty (literally a massive handful of human hair came out our drain). Complaints unanswered. Leaking shower into the bedroom below. No gas to our unit (couldn't cook or heat, had to change...  more »

  • I loved it at Afriski. Would go back again. Food was great and accommodation was very clean. Would love to see it in winter.  more »

  • Loved my time at Afriski as I was a novice and had never been to ski before it was simply magical. We were lucky enough to be graced with freash snow which made everything all the more exciting. That being said I feel if one had much experience at skiing it may get a bit boring as there isn't much variety in the slopes and they are basic. A really perfect place to train however if you don't want to go overseas with no experience. Overall I loved it and have booked to go again.
  • I had the pleasure of spending my birthday at the resort last year. The team there managed to meet my expectations and exceed them. They were so friendly and the warmth they gave me and my family made us forget about the biting cold. You can ski at night, have a lovely dinner during the evening and party in the night time at the Gondola. I cannot begin to express how amazing my time there was.
  • Best holiday destination in Lesotho. Very cool in Summer and extremely cold in Winter. The resort has outdoor activities for both summer and winter. You can bring your kids, friends and family. You don't need to buy skiing gear as they rent it out to the public
  • Wil come back in the winter for some African skiing. Lesotho is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. (The accommodation is very basic but the food is good)
  • Absolutely suberb! I loved Afriski for their super service, from reception right through to the Sky Restaurant, where the food was delicious. Do try their Lesotho trout!
