Lobster Cove Head Lighthouse, Rocky Harbour

Strikingly white against the blue sky, Lobster Cove Head Lighthouse provides arguably the finest views in the area--especially impressive at sunset. Built in the 19th century, this lighthouse is part of a national park that offers many walking trails, scenic viewpoints, and picnic areas. Drop by the lighthouse keeper's house to see an exhibit of local artifacts, or join an educational presentation to hear folk songs performed and learn about the hardships fishermen endured while living and working in along this rugged coastline. • Nice summary exhibition of the history of the region in the lighthouse. Free beautiful view of the village of Rocky Harbour, the Bay of the St. Lawrence River & the Mont Gros Morne. Windy and cold even in July. jacket required

  • The scenery is beautiful and all the trails around the lighthouse are short and easy to do. I highly recommend the trails as you will see amazing views of not only the lighthouse but the surrounding scenery.
  • Cute displays inside but be sure and take trail around lighthouse to see views. Easy walk. Can go a little further to see even more. Be sure to walk to the viewpoint of the water.
  • Great little displays about life in the area back when the lighthouse was operational. The stop has wifi surprisingly but access into the light room itself was blocked when we were there.
  • Beautiful place for a visit! Although the lighthouse was closed when we visited, we still enjoyed walking the grounds and taking pictures!
  • Beautiful views but the lighthouse was closed so we couldn't go inside. Worth stopping at, the views are incredible.
