Niagara Falls, Niagara Falls

One of North America's most impressive natural attractions, Niagara Falls straddle the border between the United States and Canada, marking the point at which the eponymous river plummets over a prominent escarpment. Two cascades on the U.S. side and one on the Canadian combine to form the most powerful waterfalls in the world, harnessed to produce electricity using a generating system invented by famed scientist Nikola Tesla. Experience the sheer force of the water by taking a boat tour from the base of Horseshoe Falls, or climb to the top the observation tower for a bird's-eye view of the entire region. Niagara Falls is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Niagara Falls Edition.

Niagara Falls can be seen from the US or the Canadian side. The Canadian side offered the best view. The only downside is the amount of time it takes to go through the border. The Horseshoe Falls are ...  more »

The best attractions are always free, thanks to the excellent infrastructure of the city, one can easily reach the falls without paying any cent more.

One fifth of the world's freshwater makes for a big waterfall. Much quieter in the evenings when the queues drop down and you can walk on to attractions rather than wait in line. Walk behind the falls...  more »

I love this place. Driving from Cleveland city to Niagara Falls is amazing trip and one of the best trip in my life, The sound of the water can be heard from blocks away, so you can know how impressive it's going to be. I like better the American side of the waterfalls because there's the national park with trials, and amazing views, besides all the low cost activities you can do. The view from the observatory tower is amazing, but not the best. Be careful about the wind because you can lose your had, even your phone when the wind is strong enough. I wend in winter, kinda warm winter so they were unfrozen but some areas of the park were with ice tho. Canadian side is more urban, and there are many man-made activities and places to go indoors.

Stunning and majestic. Truly and spectacle of nature well worth seeing. Many ways to see it up close but the Maid of the Mist on the American side felt like a better experience than the boat option from the Canadian side. It seemed we got closer to the base. The falls walk where you walk alongside the base of the Bridal Veil falls is also quite fun and soaking. The night light show on the falls is worth the nighttime trek to witness.

Really great place for a walk. Relaxing and exciting. Very beautiful in both daytime and nighttime. Later I will be going under the falls for a tour and go on a boat tour will update. So I went on the boat trip of the falls first. For the money $29.70 approx. And they give you a ring pouch . A sunny ☀ day 22 degrees C. It was a very enjoyable trip. Got close to the falls believe it or not I did not get that wet at all. Got some really nice pics. Later that day I went beneath the falls and had supper at the restaurant. The food was great I recommend the restaurant at the Falls. Now for the Journey under the falls that was very close and personal. You can hear and feel the Falls before you see them there are three look out areas the one closest is the one that you really get an awesome View sound from it was a great experience. I will add a few more pics.

One of the top natural wonders of the world. Unbelievably beautiful. Absolutely fantastic. A must for the bucket list!!! Words and pictures don't do justice. You have to see it with your own eyes.

Just a beautiful place! There are so many different things that catch your eyes! The falls are pretty amazing and are the star of the show, but don't pass up the walk down some of the other trails to check out the whole upper and lower falls water ways. If your going to view he Horse Shoe (upper falls) take an umbrella with you, b/c the mist will defiantly get you a little wet...or take a poncho. If you go in the morning be sure to come back In the evening and see the falls in the dusk with the cool light show! Defiantly worth it!!!

Where to stay in Niagara Falls

The city bordering Canada's most famous attraction offers a wide range of accommodations, with competition keeping prices surprisingly low. You'll pay a premium for views of the falls, with most of the prime real estate right by the star attraction controlled by major international hotel chains. Most sit along Niagara Parkway, which fronts the river. If you're looking for something nearby but still affordable, check the options along Victoria Avenue--you won't have a view of the falls, but you'll be just minutes from the spectacular attraction.
