One of North America's most impressive natural attractions, Niagara Falls straddle the border between the United States and Canada, marking the point at which the eponymous river plummets over a prominent escarpment. Two cascades on the U.S. side and one on the Canadian combine to form the most powerful waterfalls in the world, harnessed to produce electricity using a generating system invented by famed scientist Nikola Tesla. Experience the sheer force of the water by taking a boat tour from the base of Horseshoe Falls, or climb to the top the observation tower for a bird's-eye view of the entire region. • The falls were beautiful. During the day and at night! The south side of sidewalks were not shoveled well. But the north side was. Lots of parking. However not all of the parking meters worked.  more »

  • Magical even in Winter! The lights of the falls, the Christmas displays and a little holiday snow (and hot chocolate) for good measure - helped start the New Year right!  more »

  • My husband and I visited on our anniversary. Give yourself a day to enjoy the falls and surrounding areas. We felt one day was enough time to see everything without rushing. We gave ourselves three days and ended up driving to other areas to fill time. Trails were well maintained. Recommend seeing the falls during the day and again in the evening. Walk as much as you are able and enjoy every little place the water breaks off. There were some beautiful areas!
  • Fantastic to see in any season! It's packed in the summer but that's to be expected as it's a favourite tourist destination. Winter is quite the opposite, but also a must visit as it's a sight to see just about everything dripping with icicles from the spray that freezes. Driving along the Niagara Parkway in the fall is one of the most beautiful drives in the country! The fall colours are spectacular and there are many places to pull over and enjoy the views.
  • This is a great place for anyone to visit. Great romantic get-a-way or family trip! There are no fees to walk the park. There are several special attractions that are reasonably priced. There are restrooms and gift shops. I highly recommend the trolley service as it was only $3 per person ( if I remember correctly) but you can ride it all day and it stops at every attraction spot. It is very easy to catch the next trolley when you are ready to move along.
  • So if you go to Niagara Falls you must go to the Canadian side take your passport you'll need it. The most spectacular thing I have seen next to the Grand Canyon. You can be seated at the bar and see the falls as you enjoy a nice warm drink,I had a hot buttered rum latte which was magnificent. It was extremely cold about 20 degrees but the wind chill made it feel much colder so dress warm and separate your time 15 minutes or so for outside half hour inside.
  • Very beautiful place to visit. You should go to the Canada side it will give you more stunning view. At night there will be the light point to the fall which is really nice. Don’t forget to bring an extra dress if you decide to take the ferry to see the mid of the fall ^^.

Where to stay in Niagara Falls

The city bordering Canada's most famous attraction offers a wide range of accommodations, with competition keeping prices surprisingly low. You'll pay a premium for views of the falls, with most of the prime real estate right by the star attraction controlled by major international hotel chains. Most sit along Niagara Parkway, which fronts the river. If you're looking for something nearby but still affordable, check the options along Victoria Avenue--you won't have a view of the falls, but you'll be just minutes from the spectacular attraction.
